Wollaston Polarizers

 Wollaston Polarizers

Product name : Wollaston Polarizers
Description :
Wollaston polarizers consist of two orthogonal prisms of birefringent material cemented together in such a way that their optical axes are perpendicular to each other.

A Wollaston polarizer is designed to separate an unpolarized light beam into two orthogonally polarized beams. Ordinary and extraordinary components are symmetrically deflected from the axis of initial propagation. This kind of performance is attractive for laboratory experiments because both ordinary and extraordinary beams are accessible. Apart from their most common use in spectrometers, these polarizers can be used as polarization analysers or beamsplitters in optical set-ups.
